After reading the chapter, I feel I learned a lot about typography. When searching through some pictures, it was hard for me to choose which ones I wanted to talk about. This first picture here seemed too crowded for my liking. When I first read this picture, I completely missed the "go" on the left hand side. Not only is the "go" hidden, I feel it would have made more sense to put a bit of red in the ad, since that is the main point of the advertisement. Furthermore, the plants are everywhere going all different directions. The designer should have put more of a focus on where the plants are leading the reader's eye. The "recycled images. fresh ideas" blends into the background and easily is glanced over by the viewer. The color needs to be changed. I feel it would have made more sense to put the recycled images line underneath and to the right of the rock structure. This would have caught the reader's eye as they flipped the page. More leading would have also made the advertisement easier to read.
This next picture, to me, is a disaster. I am unsure if Teeth is the name of the company, or if that is just some horrible picture that the agency is trying to draw customers in with. The eccentric glow of the read does nothing for the actual ad. I also feel that the kerning between the letters is a bit off, because the left side of the "T" is almost touching the "E." In continuation of disaster, the font of the Foto agency is overlapping the Teeth, and the font choice does not work well together. From the Teeth on top, I get a very edgy, dark feel. In contrast, the font used for the Foto agency wordmark and logo is very professional and traditional. This picture does not work well for me at all.

Hey Briana - I think that "FOTO S.A." is the company's way of marking the image as theirs, not part of the original photo. ;) Cheers,pb
