This is a definite example of awful type. The "D's" look like the letter "O" and everything is wrong. The kerning between some of the letters seem a little inconsistent, along with the mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters in dinner and holiday; having the "H" lowercase but the "L" in holiday uppercase throws the reader off completely. Also, the random dash at the end of "Dec. 9" is very point less, there is nothing there. Along with the abbreviation of the word December it is not appealing in this case. It's too abrupt, short, and tacky. Finally, the color scheme is very cliche and overdone. It would have been more creative to use holiday objects as letters or something else perhaps.
