Claire Bourque: Hierarchy

Perez Hilton's celebrity gossip site keeps me on it for sometimes an hour, which is completely ridiculous. I love his word mark at the top of the website, because it mimics the Hollywood sign alluding to his topic of blogging. For each post, the picture is a lot larger than the text, which immediately draws me in. Visuals take just a second to capture a viewers attention. Once I decide if the image interests me, I scroll down to the blog text. This pattern continues, each time a large picture popping up to capture the audience's attention. Although this lay out may not seem very tech savvy, it somehow keeps my scrolling all the way to the bottom, where the page numbers sit, so I click to begin page 2. This pattern continues until I realize I've been reading nonsense for too long.
