Very late hierarchy post- Matt Colon

Every time I sign in to the internet, my homepage is set to comcast.net so it's a site I see very very frequently. I definitely need to get around to changing it, but it clearly displays good examples of visual hierarchy at work. The entire thing is very clearly grid-based, with vertical bars leading the reader's eye down to similar pieces of information. It seems a bit crowded but in reality it works fine. The left column is gray and focuses on specific interests one might want to peruse. The middle column, in white, focuses on news items among of various types-- international, sports, etc. And then to the right is another gray column further divided into boxes, one of which has the email/phone-related stuff, ads, and media-related items.

The color scheme is simple yet effective. Titles of "containers" are colored and a larger font than the body type of whatever is in the section. Information is grouped very efficiently, so when you want one type of information you only need to really look at one particular section. All in all it's just a very effective, albeit busy and crowded, example of web design.
