This image is a great example of "Escaping Boundaries." I think it makes the spread much more appealing because my eye was drawn to all of the important places. The 10 is out of the edge borders and cut off in some places, which makes it more interesting to look at. It is also using the angle technique to add to the visual appeal. I also like how all of the side numbered boxes are different sizes and positioned so that some overlap with the main visual in the center. It doesn't become too busy though, because the designed used a grid system of horizontal rows. This still allows the reader's eyes to flow left to right naturally.
