Website Usability (Matt Colon)
Ultimate-guitar.com is an excellent site for finding tablature, reading album reviews, discussing in a forum, and any and all things music. I'm on this site all the time in my spare time, to do all that I mentioned previously. It has an extremely efficient layout. The line of tabs along the top allow for easy navigation if you know exactly what you want-- if you want guitar tabs, there's a link; album reviews, there's a link; online lessons, forums, etc. Further down the homepage are various headlines and recent news in music, so even if you aren't going to the site for a specific reason, you can find out interesting information about bands, concerts, interviews, albums, etc. Dark backgrounds may not generally work as well, but for U-G.com it works fine. It has a unique appearance and makes it pretty recognizable among musicians. The site has clean lines, a very easily identifiable grid layout, and all in all it's a well-designed site.
