Claire Bourque: Gestalt

This ad for Apple and the Environment uses the gestalt principles in a few ways. The rule of similarity is used with the typeface reoccurring throughout but in different shades and sizes. Also, the illustrations below are all done in the same color and style that appears to be hand drawn. This leads to the next rule that was used- simplicity. The illustrations are so simple that they appear to be drawn by a child and scribbled in. The message is still clearly portrayed though. Working to save the environment is simple and easy. The last rule that applies to the illustration is repetition. Although the images are different, they are all similar in size and color. They are also connected by the repeated plus sign.
