Typeface insanity

This is not a required post but I saw this as my friend's picture on facebook and immediately wondered what the motivation was for using the plethora of different typefaces that the poster designer used. While it's not unreadable, I just don't see the purpose of all the typefaces. The design would be pretty good otherwise-- the main headline leads into the image, which draws the eye to the insignia. As it is, it looks immature, with the 4 different typefaces being used in the headline alone. After the primary professional design had been completed, someone with obviously much less design knowledge had at it and thought "Oh, perhaps if I write Delta Tau Delta in 10 different fonts at random unrelated places it will look cool." This poster does not symbolize typeface gestalt through continuity at all, and it could definitely benefit from it. Type being used to take up space for the sake of taking up space is certainly not benefiting it.
