The iPod advertisements and commercials for Apple are a classic example of effective use of color according to the gestalt principles. They are highly effective with their use of color contrast and consistency always using the black silhouette of the person dancing to the beat of the music against a background of bright, vibrant colors, with the iPod product in white so that it stand out against the silhouette and colored- background.
The ads are so distinctive, consistent, and stylish that they are easily recognizable and distinguishable from other ads thus adding to Apple's brand value. They have no hidden meanings or esoteric references, they are just simple, straightforward, and extremely effective.
